Robert Cumming was an American artist recognized for his large-format conceptual photographs. Informed by mechanics and the fantasy-scape of Hollywood, Cumming’s work often documented elaborate hand-built sets in an exploration of illusion and perception. In addition to photography, Cumming’s practice also involved painting, printmaking, drawing, writing, and mail art.
