Western Front receives funding from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Government of Canada, the BC Arts Council, the Province of British Columbia, and the City of Vancouver.
Individual contributions in the form of donations and membership fees provide vital support to Western Front’s programming and operations. We are indebted to our community of patrons, arts practitioners and visitors who have grown with us over the decades and greatly contribute to the growth and sustainability of Western Front.
Western Front is a non-profit society, and supporters of the organization can become members.
As a member, you will receive a quarterly members-only e-newsletter and voting rights at the annual general meeting.
Membership dues are $40 per year.
New memberships are accepted on approval of the board of directors. Applications are tabled at board meetings and take up to 30 days for processing and approval.

We welcome donations of all sizes. Even the smallest donation helps us cover necessary expenses and is greatly appreciated. Here are some examples of what your donation could provide:
Please consider becoming a monthly donor to provide a reliable and ongoing source of income for Western Front. Tax receipts are issued once per year for the cumulative amount of the donations made during that calendar year.
All donations are tax-deductible. Western Front is a registered charity (119293280RR0001).
For more information on claiming a tax receipt, contact us at info@westernfront.ca
The Western Front Endowment Fund was established in 2003 by the Western Front Foundation, a society of affiliated artists and long-term patrons, to ensure the future financial prosperity of Western Front. It attracts gifts and bequests from artists and patrons who share this vision.
Managed by the Vancouver Foundation, interest earned from the Endowment is disbursed to Western Front each year to support our annual artistic program and operations.
Annually we apply to Canadian Heritage’s Endowment Incentives – Canada Cultural Investment Fund, which offers matching funds for donations to not-for-profit endowments, allowing all donations received to create greater capacity for the enduring financial strength of Western Front.
The current trustees of the Western Front Foundation are Hank Bull (President), Mark Mache (Treasurer), Candice Hopkins, Caitlin Jones (Secretary), Jonathan Middleton (Vice President), Richard Fowler, and Zainub Verjee.
