Deborah Koenker is an interdisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Working across printmaking, drawing, photography, sculpture, sound, new media, and textiles, Koenker’s projects often come together in collaboration with other artists and community members. Her work explores themes of borders, globalization, immigration and migration, cultural integration, and social justice. Koenker was instrumental in establishing Malaspina Printmakers Workshop, Vancouver and served as its founding director, and is also professor emeritus in the Faculty of Visual Art and Material Practice at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
