I Wayan Wiji is a Balinese performer and shadow puppet master born in Sukawati, Indonesia. Wiji is recognized for innovating the form of wayang, introducing animal fables within Scheherazade-like frameworks, and for his distinctive puppet designs. While his practice primarily centers on solo performances for traditional ceremonies, he has also collaborated with composers and theatre artists in the United States and Australia.
