Shani Mootoo is a writer of fiction, poetry, and essays born in Dublin, Ireland to Trinidadian parents and based in Toronto, Canada. Originally a visual artist and video maker, Mootoo’s work addresses various permutations of identity and belonging, along with family and national histories.
