Howie Tsui is an artist based in Vancouver, Canada. His practice spans animation, illustration, installation, and video to construct tense, fictive environments that subvert canonized art forms and narrative genres—often stemming from the traditional Chinese literati class. Tsui’s work synthesizes diverging socio-cultural anxieties around superstition, trauma, surveillance, and otherness to explore liminal and diasporic experiences.
