Dr. Tania Willard is an artist and curator from the Secwépemc Nation, based in Kelowna, Canada. Working within the shifting ideas of contemporary and traditional as it relates to cultural arts and production, her artistic projects routinely work with bodies of knowledge that are linked to her interest in intersections between Aboriginal and other cultures. As an assistant professor at the UBC Okanagan Campus, her research focuses on Secwépemc aesthetics, language, and land, and interrelated Indigenous art practices. Willard’s projects include BUSH Gallery, a conceptual space for land based art and action led by Indigenous artists.
