Andy Butler

Bio:

Andy Butler is an artist, writer, and curator based in Narrm (Melbore, Australia) whose practice focuses on the ways societal structures of power shape cultural production. As an artist, he works across painting, film, performance, and installation. As a curator, he tackles questions of power, equity, and contradictions in how predominantly white cultural institutions engage with the practices of those who have been historically underrepresented in public cultural discourse. Butler was the former curator and acting director of West Space, Melbourne.
