Jenny Holzer is a neo-conceptual artist based in Hoosick, United States. Since the 1970s, her work has focused on feminism and gender-based violence through the delivery of words and ideas in public spaces. Holzer’s texts have appeared in the form of posters, large-scale installations, t-shirts, advertising billboards, projections on landscapes and architecture, and illuminated electronic displays. She belongs to the feminist branch of a generation of artists that emerged around 1980, and was an active member of the New York based collective Collab.
