Tomiyo Sasaki

Bio:

Tomiyo Sasaki is a Japanese-Canadian artist based in New York City. Trained in painting and sculpture, she began working with video in the 1970s and is regarded as a pioneer of the medium. Her work explores aspects of realism and nature, abstracting and deconstructing the formal qualities of recorded video through repetitive editing and temporal modulation to create new cycles of visual poetry.
