Katari Taiko
Description:
Katari Taiko is a traditional Japanese drumming ensemble based in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 1979, Katari Taiko was the first taiko group to form in Canada. Operating as a collective, the group’s goal is to develop a form of Asian Canadian culture that incorporates the following elements: discipline, physical strength, grace, non-sexism, and musical creativity.
