Joanne Kyger

Bio:

Joanne Kyger was an American poet who lived in Bolinas, California. Associated with the poets of the San Francisco Renaissance, Kyger’s practice was greatly influenced by her study of Zen Buddhism, the work of the Black Mountain School, and the northern California landscape. Kyger published over twenty collections of poetry, and occasionally taught at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute in Colorado.
