Tony Oursler is a multimedia artist based in New York City, United States whose work integrates video, sculpture, performance, and installation. A pioneering figure in new media since the 1970s, Oursler’s work has explored themes of popular culture, mass media, narrative, and technology. Often employing humour and irony, Oursler hones in on the effects of media on human consciousness to explore the psychological and social relationships between individuals and visual technologies. Oursler is represented by Lehmann Maupin, New York.
