Bio:

George Bowering is a writer and editor born in Penticton and based in Vancouver, Canada. Best known for his lyric poetry, Bowering’s work also encompasses fiction, biography, and historical nonfiction. A founding editor of the TISH poetry newsletter, he later edited the literary journal Imago and served as a contributing editor for Open Letter. In 2002, Bowering became Canada’s inaugural Parliamentary Poet Laureate and, in the same year, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
