Nancy Shaw

Bio:

Nancy Shaw was a Canadian poet, art critic, curator, and educator. During the 1980s in Vancouver, she was at the centre of interdisciplinary collaborations, and was formative to the development of artist- and writer-driven initiatives in Vancouver such as the Or Gallery, the Kootenay School of Writing, and Artspeak Gallery. During her career, Shaw taught at McGill University, Rutgers University, Simon Fraser University, and Capilano College (now Capilano University). Her research spanned media theory, modernism, and cultural citizenship. Shaw also frequently collaborated with poet Catriona Strang, and together co-authored two books of poetry.
