Chief James Sewid

Bio:

James Sewid was a fisherman, author, and Chief councillor of the Kwakwaka’wakw at Alert Bay.

He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1971 for his contributions to the welfare of his community and for fostering an appreciation for Kwakiutl cultural heritage.
