Thomas Waugh is a critic, writer, educator, and activist based in Montréal, Canada. His research focuses on the history of sexual representation and homoeroticism in queer cinema and art. Waugh is professor emeritus at Concordia University, where he taught in the School of Cinema and founded the Interdisciplinary Studies in Sexuality program. He was the founder of the Concordia Community Lecture Series on HIV/AIDS (1993–2017), and the Queer Media Database Canada-Québec Project.
