Xochimoki is a musical duo composed of American ethnomusicologist Jim Berenholtz and Mazatl Galindo, an Aztec descendant and wisdom keeper. Their work draws deep inspiration from pre-Columbian instruments discovered in the Mayan temples of the Yucatán, as well as the living cultural traditions of Indigenous peoples throughout Central America. Their songs are performed in ancestral languages such as Nahuatl, Maya, Purépecha, and Quechua, composed in ritual and meditation at sacred ceremonial sites in communion with the spirits that rest there.
