Faye HeavyShield

Bio:

Faye HeavyShield is a Blackfoot (Blood) artist from Kainai territory in what is now southern Alberta. She is known for her installations, drawings, and writing imbued with ancestral and personal memories, celebrations of kinship, and stories of home and place. While bearing a resemblance to conceptual installation, her work is rooted in the deep art history of the Canadian prairies and in personal/communal experience.
