Bio:

Matthew Welch is a composer based in the Bay Area, United States. He makes genre-resisting opera and concert music that mixes his backgrounds in bagpipes, gamelan, experimental, classical, rock, and improvised music. His work explores experimental musical hybridity between traditional and innovative forms of Western music and world music.
