Garry Neill Kennedy (1935–2021) was a Canadian conceptual artist, educator, and former President of the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design—an institution that he brought to the forefront of the international art world during his tenure from 1967 to 1990. Kennedy’s practice investigated the processes and material of painting, and was rooted in institutional critique. He was the author of The Last Art College: Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, 1968-1978 (2012).
