Julia Wong is a 1.5 generation Chinese diasporic queer living the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ Nations (Vancouver, Canada). They are a housing worker in the DTES and a passionate Chinatown community member. In their artistic practice, they are often elbows deep in clay, studying traditional Chinese ceramic patterning, and learning how to build utilitarian objects with scrap wood. Their work spans the creation of vessels, fountains, altars, and portals for grief, transformation, and futurity.
