Jill Pollack was a Canadian curator, writer, editor, and educator whose work focused on visual art, culture, and human rights. As an arts administrator, Pollack directed the Northwestern National Exhibition Centre in Hazelton, British Columbia, and taught at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She also worked as an on-air journalist for CBC, co-created radio shows for Vancouver Cooperative Radio, and wrote the “Artline” column for the Vancouver Courier. A passionate activist, she was instrumental in founding the Women’s Action Network for Amnesty International and the Vancouver Association for the Survivors of Torture.
