Description:
Eric Metcalfe gave a presentation in the Grand Luxe Hall at the invitation of the Contemporary Art Society, co-hosted by Western Front.
Metcalfe shared images and videos of his artworks and gallery installations from throughout his career, including Sax Island (1984), among others. During this spirited talk, he spoke of his performative persona Dr. Brute, and recurring motifs in his work such as leopard print and saxophones, and his predilection for “getting art off the wall.”
Metcalfe’s presentation concluded with a question and answer period.
