Curating Carnival? Cross Cultural, Contractual & Counter-Curating was a talk by curator Claire Tancons that explored her research on the cultural positioning of Carnival, protest movements, and other processional traditions in over twenty countries across the Caribbean, South and West Africa, and Europe. Her forty-minute talk also addressed a forthcoming project for the first iteration of the Harlem Biennale.
Following her presentation, Tancons was joined by Western Front exhibitions curator Jesse McKee for a conversation and question and answer session.
Presented in partnership with Flillip.
