Description:

Did the Real Van Gogh Stand Up? is a thirty-minute video by Lowell Darling, produced by Kate Craig and Peter Fraser as the company See More Video. The work was created in response to video being admissible in the courtroom for expert witness depositions.

Did the Real Van Gogh Stand Up? presents a hypothetical hearing in which the plaintiff alleges that he purchased a forgery of Vincent Van Gogh’s painting Sunflowers (1888), and is suing the defendant for the return of his money. Darling plays the role of the art expert who was brought on to examine the evidence, and the counsel was played by lawyers David Gibbons and Robert H. Guile.

Video documentation is available upon request.
