Description:
While at Western Front for his solo exhibition ofay melody, Peter Daglish produced a short colour video titled Luxe Calme Volupte.Music by Eric Metcalfe (Brute sax), Hank Bull (piano), and Patrick Ready (drums) provides the framing for a series of actions to unfold on screen: a dancer in a cartoonish pair of green gloves with pink ribbon tassels dynamically sways, Jane Ellison applies someone’s makeup, and other Western Front core members pose for photos. Cast members wear colourful masks that are decorated with glossy lips and long campy tongues.
