Description:

Planetary Network was an extended exchange of audio and slowscan video conceived by Roy Ascott and coordinated by Robert Adrian X for the 42nd Venice Biennale. The event launched with a multiday transmission of live audio and slowscan images, displayed in the central exhibition hall in Venice, and continued as a three-month debate on world news and information systems via the I.P. Sharp computer network.

Vancouver participants included Hank Bull, Doug Brown, Paul Lang, Regan Paynter, and Robert Richardson.

Related materials include documentation of the image exchanges produced for the Biennale. Video documentation is available upon request.
