Description:
4 is a work by Paul Wong that took the form of a scripted multimedia performance that was later adapted into a single-channel video. The work presents an autobiographical story that follows the lives of four young women: Deborah Fong, Carol Hackett, Annastacia McDonald, and Jeanette Reinhardt as the SS Girls.Applying the aesthetics of cinéma verité in both the live performance and video work, 4 combined actions, text, slide projections, and music by Gary Bourgeois and Paul Wong to depict the foursome’s entangled dynamic as both loving and volatile.
