Performance

Description:

While in residence at Western Front, flutist Don Druick produced Flag: a five-channel, four-monitor, three-performer opera. The work is a companion to Druick's radio play Eight One One; both of which share limits and action and the suddenness of the moment, and deal with death and the details of place.

For the performance, Druick was accompanied by bassist Lisle Ellis and vocalist Julie Abbott. Video documentation shows the three musicians performing in an intimate radius from an aerial point-of-view.

Produced by Kate Craig.

Video documentation available upon request.
