Description:
Western Front hosted artist duo Bik Van der Pol for a residency in which they developed Learning from Vancouver, a project that posed key questions about the image and mediatization of the city of Vancouver. The project took the form of an exhibition with Urban Subjects titled In Dialogue and a three-day symposium facilitated by exhibition curators Alissa Firth-Eagland and Johan Lundh. These projects later culminated in a publication titled Momentarily: Learning from Mega-Events (2011).
Presented with support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Mondriaan Foundation.
Western Front is a non-profit artist-run centre in Vancouver.
