En Masse: Blarvuster

Description:

The experimental music ensemble Blarvuster performed a concert in the Grand Luxe Hall with members Brian Chase (drums), Mary Halvorson (electric guitar), Max Mandel (viola), Leah Paul (flutes), Ian Riggs (bass), and Matthew Welch (bagpipes, saxophone, vocals, compositions). Their rich sound can be described as alien funk meets avant-garde rock and minimalism, infused with Celtic lines and Southeast Asian textures. 

This was the first event of the En Masse concert series curated by DB Boyko and Ben Wilson.
