Description:

Western Front presented Dance to the Music, a performance series that explored the enduring marriage between music and dance. 

The first event, Crunk at the Front, featured DJ sets by Julien Roy Nathan Johnson, and DJ Buzy B in the Grand Luxe Hall. 

The second event, Les Paradis Perdus and Sound Dancing offered a double bill with dancers Bill Coleman and Laurence Lemieux performing to a live vocal score by Christopher Butterfield, followed by Ali Robson and Monica Strehlke performing choreography by Peter Bingham to music by Julien Roy. 

The third event focused on music and movement from Argentina, with a performance by the ensemble Tango Paradiso with dancer Carlos Loyola.

The final event featured two concerts at Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby and Surrey campuses by the duo The Attar Project, with dancer Gitanjali Kolanad.
