Description:
Quasar Saxophone Quartet performed at Western Front as part of their Electrochocs tour.
This ensemble’s eclectic and adventuresome repertoire ranged from serious to wacky, and included instrumental works, electronics, music theatre, and phase shifting on trapeze. The concert included four-channel diffusion, with sounds emanating from strategic points that merged with the architectural elements of the room.
The works performed were “Pim’po” by Michel Frigon, “Stabile” by Monique Jean, “The Three Phases of Cold (Breath, Time Concern, Buffalo)” by Julien Roy, and “Manu Militari” by Louis Dufort.
Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
