Description:
Western Front hosted artist Ken Gregory for a talk as part of an external Upgrade! Vancouver program organized by Kate Armstrong.
Gregory talked about his projects including under the influence of ether, a computer controlled audio/radio transmission; 12 Motor Bells, a computer controlled electro-mechanical audio installation; and Hyperball System, a MIDI audio performance device.
He also discussed Sun Suckers, electronic insect-like audio microorganisms powered by solar energy that was activated while in residence at Western Front. Launched in Tasmania in 2002, they were designed to enhance the local soundscape with artificially produced digital noise.
