Edifice

Description:

Edifice was a video installation by Kathleen Moynahan informed by the Greek myth of Pygmalion. Drawing on the myth in which Pygmalion sculpted an ideal woman from stone, Moynahan treated television and video imagery as a contemporary material to construct the female body. As viewers moved around the installation, the work alternated between impressions of solidity and fragmentation.
