A Concise History of Drumming was a multimedia performance exploring the ethics, physics, and metaphysics of drumming, as well as the multidimensional relationship between performer and audience. Written and composed by Andreas Kahre, the work was directed by Charles Gerrard-Pinker, with movement by Janet Brook, it was performed by Norman Armour, Diane Brown, and David Garfinkle.
A Concise History of Drumming evolved from a series of solo performances with Cymbali at Western Front, the Music Gallery in Toronto, and the Newfoundland Sound Symposium in St. John’s.
