Declining Nude

Description:
While in residence at Western Front, Brice MacNeil produced the single-channel video Declining Nude. The camera pans over a male nude on a blue sheet, writhing with his eyes closed as Vivaldi’s “Nisi Dominus” plays. Whether he’s experiencing pain or ecstasy is ambiguous, a tension heightened by the soundtrack and use of overlapping footage that multiplies the body.
