Description:
Lap (1976) is a performance choreographed and performed by Elizabeth Chitty with Terry McGlade. In Chitty’s staging at Western Front, she and McGlade performed a rigorous movement score that involved wrestling in costumes with bare limbs, and donning a single sleeve that bound their arms together, all while holding wooden whistles in their mouths to amplify their breath through various levels of fatigue.
Their activity corresponded with an arrangement of monitors in the performance space that played video that mirrored what unfolded live.
Western Front is a non-profit
artist-run centre in Vancouver.
