WESTERN FRONT – Talk by Farida Amadou with Dylan van der Schyff

Description:

As part of Vancouver International Jazz Festival, bassist Farida Amadou was joined in conversation with percussionist Dylan van der Schyff. Following an introduction by Kevin McNeilly from the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation, Amadou and van der Schyff opened with an improvisation on electric bass and drums. Throughout the hour-long event, the two musicians moved between talking and improvising; reflecting on their collective sound making and responding to questions from the audience.

Presented in partnership with Coastal Jazz & Blues Society and the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation at the University of British Columbia with the support of the Government of Canada and SOCAN Foundation.
