Description:

What Moves Us serves as the catalogue for the exhibition of the same name curated by Liz Park at Western Front in 2009.

The exhibition collected video works by Jin-me Yoon, Marilou Lemmens and Richard Ibghy, Aleesa Cohene, Jayce Salloum, and Terrance Houle and Trevor Freeman.

Referring both to motion and emotion, the essays by Alissa Firth-Eagland and Liz Park contained in the catalogue examine movement as the focus of the video works: that of both individuals and populations in a globalized world of rapidly moving images, goods, and bodies; and to be moved within.
