Description:

While in residence at Western Front, Mardon + Mitsuhashi created a new performance work and video titled whereverever (2023) that explores their respective ancestral histories in Finland and Japan, the movement quality of blurring, and the idea of imperfect unison. To produce the work, they collaborated with artists Alysha Seriani on video and Sasha J. Langford on sound.
Alexa Mardon and Erika Mitsuhashi lie on their stomachs on a white Marley dance floor. Alexa faces the camera and is dressed in a matching set of red pants and a button-up top. Erika lies perpendicular to them and is dressed in a similar top and pant combo, but in blue.
