Field:

Media Artwork, Performance

Location:

Western Front

Time:

10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Description:

Western Front conducted a live radio broadcast as part of Re-inventing Radio, a production of Kunstradio during the international Ars Electronica Festival.

Performers on the livestream worked with transducers, contact mics, and other forms of micro-audio to broadcast sounds at the threshold of hearing. The sounds were derived from spaces and objects at Western Front, various electro-mechanical devices constructed by the artists, and feedback loops resulting from extreme amplification.

The performers were Absolute Value of Noise, Cecilia Greyson, Michael North, Jean Routhier, and Ken Roux.
