In advance of his reading in the Grand Luxe Hall as part of Western Front’s Monday Night Reading Series, Robin Blaser presented a selection of texts at the University of British Columbia for students in the Arts One cohort. His hour-long reading included poems “To Astronomers with Notebooks,” “The Translator: A Tale,” “The City,” “Sofia Nichols,” “A Gift: Homage to Creeley,” “Bottom’s Dream,” “The Finder,” and the unfinished “The Cry of Merlin”; as well as other work drawn from his collections Moth Poem (1964), Cups (1968), and his life-long serial poem The Holy Forest.
