Description:

Western Front presented a solo exhibition of paintings by Joseph Haag.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, eight paintings, in various sizes and shapes, are displayed on the walls. Their gritty brush strokes juxtapose the serenity of the empty gallery.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, one high-contrast, rhombus-shaped painting hangs on the wall as four rectangular canvases, in a similar artistic style, flank it behind. In the background, two more pieces hang on the opposite and perpendicular wall.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, three rectangular paintings with geometric and curving shapes hang on a wall. On the perpendicular wall, below eight windows, hangs a circular canvas with a high-contrast, abstract painting. Below it, three chairs and a desk sit.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, five high-contrast artworks hang on a wall. Each is different in shape and size, but all are rectangular, with one rhombus canvas cut off by the frame on the right.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, seven low-contrast artworks hang on the walls. Each piece resembles a city map of a different area with sketched spirals or other shapes cutting through the centre.
Seen in black and white, in a white gallery, ten artworks, varying in contrast, shape and size, hang on the walls. In the centre, sit three chairs and a coffee table, above it a one-of-a-kind circular art piece with high contrast, jagged brush strokes.
