Performance by Paul McMahon

Field:

Concert, Performance

Location:

Grand Luxe Hall, Western Front

Time:

9:00 p.m.

Description:

Paul McMahon performed two works in the Grand Luxe Hall: Song Paintings and Rock & Roll Psychiatrist.

In Song Paintings, McMahon performed comedic protest songs on guitar. A suite of paintings by McMahon and Nancy Chunn were projected on the wall behind him.

In Rock & Roll Psychiatrist, McMahon invited audience members to share their personal problems, which he would then diagnose on the spot. The "treatment" consisted of impromptu, short songs created in response to each individual's neurosis.
