Derek Dowden

Bio:

Derek Dowden is a pioneer digital media arts strategist and cultural technologist whose work helped shape Canada’s early online arts infrastructure by bringing artists and non-profit organizations onto the internet. He operated ArtNet, Canada’s first online cultural bulletin board system, and led the initiative for ANIMA (Arts Network for Integrated Media Applications), British Columbia’s first cultural website and one of the earliest global media-art web platforms.
