Leo Smith

Bio:

Leo Smith is a trumpeter, composer, improviser, and educator based in New Haven, United States. Since the 1960s, his practice has explored avant-garde jazz and creative music, and has focused on developing illustrated scores. Smith was a key member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Music (AACM) in Chicago, and has taught at The Herb Alpert School of Music at California Institute of the Arts, the University of New Haven, and Bard College.
