Peachland

Description:

While in residence at Western Front, Colin Campbell developed the single-channel video, Peachland. This work marks the final episode featuring Campbell’s persona, Robin. The narrative follows Robin enroute to Vancouver with her U-Haul when a violent summer storm forces her to stay two nights at the Peachland tourist home in the Okanagan Valley. 

Peachland also features performances by Alistar Brown, Elizabeth Chitty, Kate Craig, Jane Ellison, Steve Hacket, Glenn Lewis, and Cornelia Wyngaarden. The work was edited by Campbell and Paul Wong.

A screening event took place in the Grand Luxe Hall that presented Peachland alongside past works by Campbell: He’s a Growing Boy, She’s Turning Forty (1980), L.A. Flex (1980), and Rat’s Country (1978).
