Description:

The World in Which We Live was a two-channel video installation by Jan Świdziński. Found footage from various television programs and commercials is combined with voice-over narration that reflects on the state of reality, consciousness, and social practice—an interrelatedness that was central to Świdziński's thinking around contextual art. Throughout the seven-minute video, Ian Dury’s “Plaistow Patricia” (1979) plays in the background.

Video documentation is available upon request.
